Elwin G. Porter

Founder and Director of the Art Institute in Miami, 1956 which the school evolved to become the South Florida Art Institute with a curriculum of Fine Art painting and sculpting-earlier days offering commercial art classes.

Elwin Porter taught figure painting, as well as landscape painting through out 50 years of the schools existence. He was a great mentor and teacher to many students, and extremely talented artist.
